Note that the earlier you register for your MPRE, the more options you'll have for your exam location. Follow these steps to schedule your MPRE exam:
- Create an NCBE account.
- Apply for MPRE test accommodations, if necessary.
- Select MPRE Registration, complete the NCBE portion, and request your “Authorization to Test.”
- Check email for “Authorization to Test” from Pearson VUE (sent within 24 hours).
- Schedule your test appointment with Pearson VUE and pay the test fee by 11:59 p.m. CT on the registration deadline.
- Check your email for “Confirmation of Pearson Vue Exam Appointment” and “Confirmation of Payment” from Pearson VUE.
If you don't receive an email confirmation from Pearson VUE within 24 hours, check your spam folder or contact NCBE MPRE Registration services. You can also contact Pearson VUE for testing center queries.
Rescheduling
You can reschedule your MPRE appointment for either a different date or testing location, but you cannot transfer your registration from 1 administration window to another. All rescheduling requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the appointment by logging into your Pearson VUE account or calling 888-205-1855 and paying a fee.
Canceling
You can cancel your scheduled exam by calling 888-205-1855 or logging into your Pearson VUE account at least 48 hours before your appointment. A partial refund will be issued. Registrations cannot be transferred to another individual or administration window.
MPRE Exam Day Policies
On the exam day, arrive at the Pearson VUE testing center at least 30 minutes before your appointment. If you arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment, you may be prohibited from taking the test. Review the MPRE Test Day Policies page to avoid any inconvenience during the exam.
Here are some key points to know:
- You must bring a government-issued primary ID and a secondary form of identification (such as a credit card, library card, or school ID). Both IDs must be original and not expired.
- Before entering the testing room, empty your pockets, remove any jewelry or hair accessories, reveal your ears, roll up your sleeves, and pat yourself down. Personal items can be stored in small lockers.
There are no designated breaks during the exam. If you need to stretch or use the restroom, raise your hand and await the test administrator’s approval. Your exam time will not pause.
